Work permits:
Diplomatic missions and consular offices of Spain in Latin American countries have as one of their functions the proceedings for the Work Permits for foreign workers who wish to come to exercise their profession in Spain. Although the employer usually performs this formality, it may also be performed by the worker at a consular office if the employer does not comply with his/her obligations or if the worker is performing an activity on his/her own behalf.

Granting of visas:
Foreign Law (ORGANIC LAW 8/2000, of December 22nd, which reforms the Organic Law 4/2000, of January 11th, about rights and freedom of foreigners in Spain and their social integration) establishes the obligation of Diplomatic Missions and Consular Offices of Spain to receive applications and grant the visas in the following manner:
Article 27. Granting of a visa.
1. A visa is applied for and granted in the Diplomatic Missions and Consular Offices of Spain, and they will allow foreigners to present themselves at a the Spanish frontier and be permitted entrance.
